Diabetes Symptom

A diabetes symptom can easily be overlooked because many appear to be harmless. Initial occurrences are subtle and this explains why some have the disease for months, sometimes years, and remain unaware.

There are millions of diabetics the world over who remain unaware of their condition. If a diabetes symptom is spotted early enough, a diagnosis can be made and if found to be positive, consequently treated. This in turn provides better health for the sufferer in the long term. Signs of diabetes are similar in both type 1 and type 2 due to the severity of the blood sugar level. This could be down to a lack of insulin production, no production at all or simply, insulin resistance. In either instance, there fails to be a lack of necessary glucose contained within the cells and this can be recognised by a diabetes symptom. Once the condition is addresses, these symptoms disappear in no time at all. This reduces the risk of serious health problems.

The diabetes symptom that occurs most often is an increase urination combined with a high level of thirst. Glucose or excessive sugar develops within the blood of a diabetic. This makes extra work for the kidneys when filtering and absorbing excess sugar. If they can't continue, this sugar goes into the urine and fluids escape from the tissues. This in turn results in increasing the frequency in urination further, which can the lead to dehydration. More drinking in order to quench thirst makes you urinate more.

A feeling of flu is another diabetes symptom. This could be a loss of appetite, feeling weak and being tired. This is due to the fact that diabetes that is being managed poorly prevents the body from converting sugar into energy. The sugar then remains in the blood stream rather than giving energy to the blood cells which is it's normal role. This leaves you both tired and exhausted.

Another possible diabetes symptom is a variation of body weight. With a high frequency of urination equating to a loss of sugar, it means less calories. This diabetes prevents the sugar in food reaching your cells. This then leads to an increased frequency of hunger which in turn sees quick weight loss. This is especially true is a type 1 sufferer. Having said that however, weight gain is also a serious cause for concern. Your tissues are more able to resist the insulin action. The blood sugar level then increases. Increasing fatty tissues lead the cells to become more anti. This is why being overweight is a serious matter when it comes to developing type 2 diabetes.

Another diabetes symptom is blurred ir unclear vision. When high blood sugar extracts fluid from tissues, it includes your eyes lenses. This hinders your focus. Diabetes needs to be addresses as soon as possible and if overlooked, it encourages the emergence of new blood vessels in your retina. This then causes damage to the old vessels. This can result in minor problems with vision as rings around lights, flashing lights, or dark spots. In rare cases, blindness.

As soon as a diabetes symptom is apparent, a physician must be called upon, The earlier the diagnosis, the earlier the treatment can begin, and the greater chance the patient leading a normal and happy life.
